Anne Rahikainen

Principal
Anne Rahikainen is the Founder and Principal of Renewable Frontiers Consulting. She has 16 years of management consulting experience in the biomass energy and forest products industry sectors. Her expertise is in market, industry and policy research; forecasting; corporate strategy and business plan development; and project pre-feasibility and due diligence studies. She is a frequent speaker at bioenergy industry conferences and an author of two recent studies analyzing and forecasting development of the North American and European bioenergy sector.

Prior to starting Renewable Frontiers Consulting, Anne led the development of Bioenergy Services at RISI, a leading global supplier of information services to the bioenergy and forest products industry sectors. Her team was first to launch a comprehensive service, to track investments in the bioenergy sector, feedstock supply and prices, and regulatory environment shaping the industry development and outlook. Anne has consulting experience both in North America and Western Europe, gained by working for fourteen years with the Poyry Group, a global consulting and engineering company that serves energy, forest products industry and infrastructure sectors.

During her career, Anne has led numerous studies to investigate investment opportunities in the bioenergy sector and assisted companies in making optimal investment decisions. Major recent consulting projects have included a fiber due diligence study to evaluate several biomass power investments for a large utility in the US Northeast, selection for a new production site for large scale export pellet facility, and a global study of industrial pellet markets to support business plan development and financing of an offshore export pellet facility. Her clients have included major utilities, biofuels producers, pellet manufacturers, trading companies, and private equity investors.

Anne has an Executive MBA from Cornell University and MSc in Forestry/Environmental Science from the University of Helsinki.
